A cheque for £5720.13 was presented to John Hewitt, founder of the charity, We Mind & Kelly Matters. The charity, which was formed in 2019, focuses on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
“I just want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who supported our golf day. We have only been able to raise this amount due to the generous support of the participants and sponsors of the event. I know that the charity is doing such good work locally. Also, thank you to my team for all their hard work, as most of you know these events don’t just happen. The expert planning behind it ensures a fantastically organised day.”
The day took the format of an AM/AM competition. Full handicaps were allowed and adjusted for the courses Slope Index. Stableford rules with the top two scores counting.
Players were able to purchase on the day for £5.00 each, a “Mulligan”, a “Joker” and “Get out of Bunker” cards or all three for £10.00. Additionally, a raffle and sealed bid auction helped to boost funds for the charity.
Philip Barnett from PJB Photography Ltd was on hand to record the day and generously donated 50% of all sales from the event.
Next year’s Anstee & Co.‘s Charity Golf Day, will again be held at Wellingborough Golf Club on Thursday 6th October 2022. Hope to see you there!
