The event took place on Sunday the 24th March 2019 with over 13,000 runners and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster. Raj completed the marathon in a respectable 2 hours 46 minutes.
Raj was running for the charity “Tommy’s”, personally raising £610. The charity funds pioneering medical research into why pregnancy loss happens and how it can be prevented.
The marathon starts on Pall Mall near our London Office and finishes by Downing Street. The runners enjoy fabulous views of London’s most iconic landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, Big Ben, the Shard, the Tower of London, the Gherkin and the London Eye.
The event prides its self in delivering what it calls a “Pan-London community engagement programme that involves schools, boroughs, community groups, cultural organisations, sports clubs and businesses in both event development and on the day”.
The charity has set its self a mission to halve the number of babies that die in pregnancy or birth by 2030. They are the United Kingdom’s leading baby charity and exist to save babies’ lives. They fund pioneering medical research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.
