Around £3,000 was raised for Cransley Hospice with donations still coming in. The money raised came from the booking fee for playing, hole sponsorship, a raffle on the night and a silent auction. Additionally, David Clifford the clubs golf professional also challenged the players on the day to a “Nearest the Pin” competition on the 14th hole. This event alone raised £180.00.
This year’s charity is Cransley Hospice based in Kettering, Northamptonshire. Mary Hollands, from the charity, gave a short talk before the meal. She thanked everyone for being so generous both with their money and time. Mary highlighted the work that the charity does and the costs involved in providing the hospice service to the community.
Caroline Anstee, Managing Director of Anstee & Co. thanked everyone involved in the event but especially the team in the background who make the day happen. David Wylie and Brian Hildreth who adjudicated the scoring, Jane Lumley-Walker for organising and coordinating the event and The Team at Wellingborough Golf Club.
