Dementia Friends. Training for your staff.

Training for you and your staff.

A Dementia Friend is someone who learns a little about what it is like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action, for instance, signing up to the Alzheimer’s Society’s campaigns to improve the lives of people with dementia or being more patient when out in the community.

At Anstee & Co we often come across clients and their families who are living with dementia and feel it is important for us to become a dementia-friendly firm.

With this in mind, one of our Financial Designers, Rachel Efetha, has undertaken training to become a Dementia Champion and will, in April, be delivering the Dementia Friends information to the staff of our company.

If you would like Rachel to come to your workplace or community group to deliver the free information session to become a Dementia Friend, please let us know.

She has committed to creating 200 Dementia Friends!

Locations that Rachel will cover.

Rachel, who is based in Bedford, Bedfordshire and will cover a thirty-mile radius from her home. If she is unable to help you she will pass your enquiry on to another trainer within your area.

What is Dementia? How can I find out more?

Dementia is the general term used to describe a number of progressive neurological disorders. These conditions affect the brain. There are many different types of dementia, of which Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most common. It is possible to have a combination of different types of dementia. This condition affects people in many different ways, depending on the type of dementia.

The impact can be emotional, physical and psychological. It can also profoundly change the practicalities of everyday life.
