Our 5th Annual Charity Golf Day saw 14 teams challenge themselves, over 18 holes, against the parkland course of Wellingborough Golf Club.
The event raised £3,931.14 which is all going to “Dementia Sings Out”, a Community Choir, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
At the presentation dinner, Ruth Bowe, gave a lively talk, about the work of the Choir. The presentation included singing and some very uplifting stories of how the choir is helping people with dementia.
This community choir was inspired by the recent BBC One television programme, Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure. This two-part documentary highlights the challenges faced with having to live with dementia. The programme follows members of the choir and shows how singing can help.
Caroline Anstee, Managing Director of Anstee & Co said-
“This is the fifth year that we have run the Charity Golf Day at Wellingborough Golf Club. The event has gone from strength to strength thanks to the support of everyone who has played, donated a prize or sponsored a hole. Although, as a company, we have facilitated the event it’s the generosity of those attending that has helped us raise £3,931.14 this year. Thank you and please enter a team next year.”
