London Marathon successOn Sunday Rachel completed the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon. Running over 26 miles and raising over £3,000.00 for Deafblind UK.

What this achievement means to Rachel.

Rachel had these words of reflection after the Marathon.

Rachel Efetha, Chartered Financial Planner said-

“I have now completed the London Classics which is Ride London (100-mile bike ride), Swim Serpentine (2-mile Open Water Swim) and the Virgin Money London Marathon.  Less than 1,500 people have completed this challenge!”

“I knew the Marathon was going to be the biggest challenge as running is my weakest area.  The first 10 miles absolutely flew by and I was on an absolute high, the next 13 miles were all about the grunt work, just getting it done mile by mile. After mile 16 I had to start, dodging the clean-up crews getting London’s streets back up and running. I then realised there was just one parkrun left (a parkrun is 5k/3.2miles) and I knew I was home and dry and managed to keep running until the end.”

“It was hard work! A marathon is a massive mental and physical challenge – but it was an amazing experience.  The crowds were phenomenal, I don’t think I’ll ever experience anything like it again unless I’m successful in next year’s ballot….”

Caroline Anstee, Managing Director of Anstee & Co said-

“Congratulations from me and everyone here at Anstee & Co and we are so proud of your achievements. All that training has paid off and it is some personal achievement to have completed all three challenges. Your determination is an inspiration to us all.”
